Why don't you charge commission fees for volunteering at the orphanage in Peru? When and how do I pay?

Two Austrians, who already have worked at Elim several times, are running “Fairien” voluntarily. Therefore it is possible for us, unlike many other companies, not to charge commission fees. You have to pay only 10 Dollars per day for accommodation . The payment will be effected in Cusco directly to the manager of the orphanage. The money is used to cover the daily expenses for the kids, like food, school and salaries.

Can I really choose on my own how much time I want to spend at the orphanage?

In both houses, there are working a cook and a tutor the whole day, who even sleeps there at night. Therefore, volunteers aren't obliged to stay at the house at any specific time, but can freely choose when to play with the children, help with the homework or organize excursions.

Are basic Spanish skills enough?

A voluntary stay at the orphanage doesn't require Spanish skills, but of course they would be helpful.

Especially the girls speak a little bit of English. However, it is quite easy to play with the kids without speaking a lot.

How does the booking work?

Fill out the form under the menu icon “registration”. We will contact the manager of the orphanage to check the availability. As soon as we get the positive answer (normally the next day), we will send you a confirmation and your adventure is ready to start!
